Resources for Understanding and Learning to use MS Teams
Purpose
This is an intentionally short document intended to give you starting points for learning more about Teams. It’s in the form of an annotated list.
Teams Help from Microsoft
The help capability within Teams is generally very good.
You’ll get a choice of
Topics - to find out how a particular tool or approach works
Training - to get generally well-done training on using Teams features
Most of these help topics and more are also available on the web from Microsoft Support
AI Search - As of late 2024 I find that Google Gemini, Perplexity, MS Copilot are often quicker and more useful.
Web Resources
The most general search –27 million hits – Still, the top results are helpful.
You can use this as a starting point and refine it for more specific results
Note that Microsoft is very actively extending and refining Teams. restricting your results presented to the last year or so may be wise.
I’ve found videos from Kevin Stratvert particularly clear and helpful, though I haven’t looked at each of them.
Condensed Overviews of Teams
My own – in the files area of this channel.
TechRepublic – well organized summary
Microsoft Teams For Dummies Cheat Sheet – well organized also (from 2021)
AI Search - As of late 2024 I find that Google Gemini, Perplexity, MS Copilot are often quicker and more useful.
